Hello, everybody. My name is Alvin but Mom and Dad and everybody calls me Alvie and I guess you can too. My Mom calls me a "progedy" because I can reed and rite pretty good and I'm only four and a half years old. I rilly like riting and someday when I grow up I might be a riter. Dad says "oh, no young man, you are going to work in the cannery just like all the other ten year old kids until your old enough to join the army or your arms get cut off in one of the masheens." Dad likes to kid around with me alot but my friend Joey had to go to work in the cannery and now he is called three fingers Joey by all of us kids.
I rilly like the new Yellow Kid comic in the Hearst-owned papers and my uncle Max always reeds me the dime novels or the Sherlock Homes stories when he comes to visit. Maybe I will rite stories about those kind of guys when I grow up. That wood be keen. I think comics are a good kind of reeding thing and I hope they stay around for a good long time. That wood be super.
I have to go to bed now but my Mom is going to reed that new Wizard of Oz book to me. I rilly like that Tin Man guy. He's like a man made of steel. Maybe I'll rite about a guy like that some day. Or maybe I'll rite about the baseball guys. Not the guys in the field that catch and stuff. I like the hitters. It would be keen to rite about a bat man someday. Well, I here my mom yelling so I better go. Tomorrow I am going to play rock/paper/scissors with three fingers Joey. Next time I'll tell you who won...
