UNCLE SCROOGE #345 [Gemstone; $6.95] hit the comic-book shops a couple weeks ago, but I neglected to let you know that, among its many entertaining features is one of the foreign Disney stories I script-doctored. While I don't review things I've worked on here, I can plug them like nobody's business.
The hard-hitting cover art is by Daniel Branca and here's what you'll find behind the cover:
Uncle Scrooge in "King Scrooge the First" by Carl Barks with art by Tony Strobl, first published in UNCLE SCROOGE #71 (October, 1967);
Uncle Scrooge in "X-Treme Scrooge" by Terry Laban and art by Rodriques;
Beagle Boys in "You're a Bonehead Now" by Pat & Carol McGreal with art by Jose Maria Manrique;
Uncle Scrooge in "Feed For Greed" by Gorm Transgaard with dialogue by Annette Roman and art by Manrique;
Gyro Gearloose in "Lost and Found" by Paul Halas with dialogue by Tony Isabella and art by Jose Colomer Fonts, and, on the inside back cover of the issue, a lively letters column.
As always, I appreciate your supporting publishers who employ me. Especially when their books are as a good as those published by Gemstone Comics. When I get a spare moment, I'll put together a complete list of the stories I've worked on for them.
Moving right along...
Due to more factors than I care to list, I'm running seriously behind on my household projects and paying gigs. Unfortunately, this necessitates shorter-than-usual TOTs for the next couple days. I'll try to make it up to you down the line.
In the meantime, I do have new questions for you on our TONY POLLS page. This week, all of the questions concern JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED, which will be kicking off its fifth (and perhaps final) season on September 17.
We ask you to choose your favorite fourth-season episode, your favorite core League member and your favorite supporting member, as well as a couple of other questions.
You can cast your votes at:

Thanks for spending a part of your day with me. I'll be back tomorrow with more stuff.

THE "TONY" SCALE
ZERO: Burn your money before buying any comic receiving this rating. It doesn't *necessarily* mean there's absolutely nothing of value here - though it *could* - but whatever value it might possess shrinks into insignificance before its overall awfulness.
ONE: Buy something else. Maybe I found something which wasn't completely dreadful in the item, but not enough for me to recommend it when there are better comics available. I only want what's best for you, my children.
TWO: Basic judgment call. I found some value, but not enough to recommend it. My review should give you enough info to decide if you want to take a chance on it. Are you feeling lucky today, punk? Well, are you?
THREE: This denotes something I find perfectly respectable. There are better books out there, but I wouldn't regret buying this item. Based on my review, you should be able to determine if it's of interest to you. Let the Force guide you.
FOUR: I recommend anything earning this rating. Unless you don't like the genre, subject matter, or past work of the creators, I believe you'll enjoy this item. Isn't it uncanny how I can look right into your soul that way?
FIVE: Anything getting this rating is among the best comicdom has to offer. You should buy/read this, even if the genre/subject matter doesn't appeal to you. It's for your own good. Me, I live for comics and books this good...but not in a pathetic "Comic-Book Guy" sort of way.
