frustration

I can multi-task. Really.

Most days, I can take care of my family AND write comic-book pages AND write columns. Some days, I can do all of the above AND deal with the renovation and repair work that has gone on far too long at Casa Isabella. However...

The renovation/repair situation has gotten so off track that it's demanding more of my attention. Since the likelihood that I will rip off someone's head increases with every day that this work is not completed, something had to give.

Today's not-really-a-column is posting late. After *wasting* an entire day because the local electrical inspector won't approve what is routinely approved one city away AND going at it with the contractor AND preparing for a meeting with the contractor tonight, I had nothing left for the keyboard.

My first priorities are my family and our home. Next are the scripts I'm writing because I hope we can all agree the world needs more Tony Isabella comic books.

I love writing my columns. I love giving you what I hope are entertaining and informative breaks from your equally hectic days. But, for the next few days, TOT is going to consist of short notes from me to you.

Like this one.

By the end of the week, I hope to either have the contractor situation largely resolved or, failing that, turned over to someone who will doubtless be paid a large sum of money to figuratively rip off someone's head for me. I'm sincerely hoping its former, but I am prepared for the latter. I started painting my WILL WRITE FOR FOOD signs last night.

Full-length TOTs will resume as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I posted two new TONY POLLS questions for you this morning. One is on Marvel Studios and the ten movies it will be self-producing, the other is on your TV viewing. You can answer these questions at:

Thanks for your support at this time of frustration for me and my family. I'll have another note for you tomorrow.

THE "TONY" SCALE

Zero Tonys
ZERO: Burn your money before buying any comic receiving this rating. It doesn't *necessarily* mean there's absolutely nothing of value here - though it *could* - but whatever value it might possess shrinks into insignificance before its overall awfulness.

Tony
ONE: Buy something else. Maybe I found something which wasn't completely dreadful in the item, but not enough for me to recommend it when there are better comics available. I only want what's best for you, my children.

TonyTony
TWO: Basic judgment call. I found some value, but not enough to recommend it. My review should give you enough info to decide if you want to take a chance on it. Are you feeling lucky today, punk? Well, are you?

TonyTonyTony
THREE: This denotes something I find perfectly respectable. There are better books out there, but I wouldn't regret buying this item. Based on my review, you should be able to determine if it's of interest to you. Let the Force guide you.

TonyTonyTonyTony
FOUR: I recommend anything earning this rating. Unless you don't like the genre, subject matter, or past work of the creators, I believe you'll enjoy this item. Isn't it uncanny how I can look right into your soul that way?

TonyTonyTonyTonyTony
FIVE: Anything getting this rating is among the best comicdom has to offer. You should buy/read this, even if the genre/subject matter doesn't appeal to you. It's for your own good. Me, I live for comics and books this good...but not in a pathetic "Comic-Book Guy" sort of way.
